I was hoping to be able to blog once a week or so, but finding quiet time on the computer is scarce. My family does not know I blog, even DH does not know.. We have only one computer so it's a bit tough - we'll see how long it lasts.
DS is 12! Had his birthday on Monday, tomorrow night DH is taking him and 3 friends to see Eragon (OPENING NIGHT!!) I went and bought the tickets in advance this evening. Tomorrow will be a busy day! I'll work for awhile at the bank.. till 1 or 2 maybe! The kids get out of school at 2:55, so I'll be home for that.. DH needs picked up at the airport at 4:30 (crosses fingers that plane will be in on time from St Louis), Piano recital for B & J at 6:30, (hope Grandma will let them go first..) then pick up the boys for a 7:50 showing, and then they are spending the night. And somewhere in there, we'll need to eat.
Our local theatre has an reuseable cup you can buy, so on return visits you pay only $1 to fill it back up. They also have shirts you can buy, 20 bucks maybe, at the beginning of the year, and you get a coupon for a regular popcorn when you wear it again to the theatre. For a showing of Batman or maybe Xmen earlier this year, we got some tshirts free, so I borrowed some of my brothers, so we have the free popcorn covered!
Anyone have anything like that at their local theatres?? And what is with this NINE-flippin-FIFTY to get into the show ? I had two passes that I'd bought on a deal at Costco that made them $7.50, but good grief!! Who can afford to go to the movies anymore!

LOL about movie prices! It's insane, isn't it? Especially with kids and buying drinks and whatnot. We don't have those deals (not that I've seen anyways) but it sounds nice.
I just sneak candy in, and sometimes the drinks for the kids, too. We always buy the popcorn there, and usually a drink for the adults. So expensive though!
I must say, I am one to sneak in snacks in my big purse! I just CAN"T pay the outrageous prices for candy!
I use my Entertainment book to get tickets for $6 and sneak candy in. If I'm with the kids, I buy popcorn, and sometimes a drink.
It helps that I rarely goto the movies. I'd love to go more. I've really enjoyed myself the last few times I've gone!
OT had a post a while back about sneaking food and drinks into the movies. There was quite a debate.
I use the entertainment book for a discount or Old Mr. Puffy buys the tickets at senior prices. We sneak in food and drinks. That's the extent of my criminal life.
Actually, LC and I generally don't eat anymore during the movies. My understanding is that concessions are just about the only way the theater owner makes money. But then again, most theaters these days are part of a chain, so . . .
I used to chow down on popcorn and all that trans-fat-laden oil. It was ridiculous.
And we go to very few movies anymore. My mom and dad are going to spend Christmas Day at the movies, however. (I? Have to work.)
The last time that GF and I went to the movies, it cost us over $50 for the two of us. That was for the movie and the food.
Admittedly, I am a good eater but there is no way that I should be able to eat that much food.
We wouldn't eat at the movies if not for the free popcorn and $1 sodas! I don't know what we'll do when the shirts "expire" at the end of the year! Guess we'll have to get in another movie before the end of the year!
