Tjitske is Dutch for...

Jessica!!

Jessica is named for my grandmother Tjitske, Jessie to us common folk.. She was born in Holland, and my Jessica was born 11 years ago today! I will have to find some of her baby pictures this afternoon!
Oh, the joys of a preteen girl.. she is emotional, I hesitate to use the word drama queen, but...
I struggle with her, Mark says because we are too much alike, both headstrong.
Thanks alot my Dutch grandmother...
I love you, Jessica!

Oh, and can I add I can't believe she's only 11?! Eleven going on 18, I'd say! So mature, confident, and friendly. I want my kids to be just like her!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

I so need to introduce you to my brother and SIL over in Surprise. They're raising four girls, two of whom are well into their teens.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA! Sorry I did not realize it was your birthday.... Hope you had a nice one! Thank you for always being so kind and polite to me sweet Tjitske...

I have raised teen girls and it wasn't always pure joy...sugar and spice...but for the most part it was SWEET! And I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I am sure that she will love these pictures being on your blog! But that is a great birthday tradition:) Nice pun in your comment on my blog!! Justin put the shelves on the back porch when he hid in the fridge... he knew I wouldn't see them there.

What a darling girl. Love the sleeping picture and tradition. Wish I had done the same.
